iJumble is an easy, fun to use app that solves just about any word jumble you throw at it. If it does not know the word then you can add it and even share it with other iJumble users. Its incredibly fast performance puts the words at your finger tips as fast as you enter letters.
iJumble's base dictionary has over 155 thousand entries including English words, phrases, people's names, and more.
If the word you need is not in there you can add your own.
You can share your added words with other's using iJumble using the "Share" menu choice. Shared words* become part of the base dictionary for everyone else to use.
Free, dictionary updates are available anytime you want to retrieve them. Just select the "Check for dict update" menu choice.
Using iJumble does not require an Internet/phone plan connection except for dictionary downloading and word sharing.
Requires Android 1.5 or greater.
What happens after I install iJumble?
After iJumble is installed and is launched the first time it tries to contact the iJumble server to download its dictionary. If the Android is not connected to the Internet iJumble will give a message and close. If connected iJumble will connect to the server and download the dictionary. A progress meter shows the status of the download (which can take from a few seconds to a couple of minutes depending upon connection speed).
How do I set the number of letters iJumble is searching for?
Touch and drag the slider bar left or right. Completely to the left is three letters. Completely to the right is "any number of letters". One notch back to the left is 15 letters. iJumble can search for words with 3 to 15 letters or "any number of letters."
What does it mean when iJumble is set to "Any number of letters"?
iJumble will find all words in the dictionary, regardless of word length, with the jumble letters entered. For example, you can find all the words with qqq or zzzz or all words with your name jumbled in them. Or solve the riddle of what’s more popular Honda or Toyota. Enter Honda to see that it is jumbled in over 900 words and that Toyota is in about 180 words.
How do I enter letters for searching?
Touch the letter box and use the keyboard to enter the letter. Letters can be entered in any position in any order and can be changed at any time. iJumble will show you possibilities as letters are entered. Entering fewer letters shows more possibilities and entering more letters shows fewer possibilities.
What if I cannot see all the letters?
Simply touch anywhere over the letter boxes and drag left or right to bring the letters you want onto the screen.
What is the Add/Share a word menu choice?
Selecting the "Add/Share a word" menu choice shows a screen for adding your own words to the dictionary. Enter your word and press the Add button. If the word is not already in iJumble it will be added and displayed in the added words list.
Touch an entry in the added words list, hold it for a couple of seconds and the Remove or Share menu will pop up.
Selecting the Share choice is cool because it sends the word to the iJumble server for inclusion in the next dictionary update. The dictionary grows because iJumble users are always adding words. Dictionary updates are free!
Selecting the Remove choice will remove the word from you list of added words.
What is the Check for dict update menu choice?
Selecting this menu choice displays a screen for contacting the iJumble server to see if an updated dictionary is available. If one is available you can press the download button to retrieve the update. A progress meter shows the status of the download (which can take from a few seconds to a couple of minutes depending upon connection speed.
